What you walk away with

Built for people who brief clients and ship sites — not another vanity dashboard.

01

A score you can defend

Eleven signals, nine weighted to 100. Weights are published so you can check the reasoning in a pitch or audit.

02

A report you can send

Prioritised fixes on a shareable link that unfurls with a score card — and prints to PDF when a client wants one.

03

A starter llms.txt

Drafted from your own page signals. Edit and publish, or upgrade to a fuller crawl when you need depth.

Methodology and limits →

What we check

Every signal an AI crawler can read without executing your JavaScript — which is how most of them work.

llms.txt

weight 18

The markdown map AI systems look for when they want an overview of your site rather than a scrape.

robots.txt AI bots

weight 18

Whether GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended are allowed to read you at all.

Schema.org JSON-LD

weight 14

The strongest machine-readable statement of who you are — and what tells you apart from similarly named products.

Sitemap

weight 12

How crawlers find pages beyond your homepage. We follow the URL declared in robots.txt, not just the root.

Title & meta description

weight 10

Still the primary snippet source for classic results and a common source for AI citations.

Canonical URL

weight 8

Stops duplicate and parameterised URLs from splitting whatever authority a page earns.

llms-full.txt

weight 8

The extended context file, for agents that want detail before answering a question about you.

Open Graph

weight 6

Controls how pages appear when shared, and read by several AI crawlers as supplementary metadata.

Indexable page

weight 6

A stray noindex that escaped staging is the most damaging thing on this list. We look for it.

ai.txt

informational

An emerging convention for declaring AI usage policy. Reported, never scored.

Content-Signal

informational

Per-purpose permissions in robots.txt: yes to being cited, no to being trained on.

What each signal means, and how to fix it →

llms.txt, robots.txt, sitemap.xml — what's the difference?

They are often confused, and they do genuinely different jobs. You want all three.

File Answers the question Read by Format
robots.txt May I crawl this? Permission rules, per user agent. Search crawlers and AI crawlers that respect it Plain text directives
sitemap.xml What pages exist? A machine-readable inventory of URLs. Search crawlers, some AI crawlers XML
llms.txt What is this site, and which pages matter? A curated summary with context. AI assistants and agents Markdown

A sitemap lists everything. llms.txt says what is worth reading and what it means — the difference between handing someone an index and handing them a briefing.

AI answers name sources. Be one of them.

Search sends people to your page. AI answers the question and cites a shortlist. That shifts the job from ranking alone to being readable, attributable, and allowed.

The failure mode is quiet: a blocked crawler, a missing llms.txt, a noindex that escaped staging. Nothing in analytics explains why you stopped appearing.

Questions

Is this SEO or GEO?

Adjacent. Classic SEO signals still matter — sitemaps, canonicals, metadata. GEO adds the AI-specific layer on top: llms.txt, crawler policy for AI agents, and structured data clear enough for a model to state facts about you confidently.

Does a high score guarantee AI citations?

No, and be sceptical of anyone who says otherwise. This measures whether engines can read and understand your site — the necessary groundwork. Whether they cite you also depends on your content, your authority and the question being asked.

Do you scan the whole site?

The free scan reads one page plus your public discovery files, which is where nearly all of these signals live. Full-site crawls with per-page llms.txt generation are a paid product.

What do you do with my data?

We fetch public URLs and keep the resulting report so its link stays shareable. No login, no private data, nothing executed on your site, and nothing sold. See the privacy note for detail.

Will the free scan stay free?

Yes. The scanner, the extension and the checklist stay free. Paid products are the things that cost us real work per customer: full-site crawls, generated content, monitoring and audits.

Which browsers does the extension support?

Desktop Chrome and Firefox, from the Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons. The web scanner works anywhere, including mobile.
