Privacy note

Short version: the website can use Google Analytics 4 after you accept optional cookies. The browser extension runs scans in your browser. The GEO Checker dashboard (the subscriber product at /app) stores your account, the sites you monitor, and their scan history on our servers so it can re-scan them and alert you to changes. We do not sell personal data, and you can export or delete everything at any time.

What GEO Checker is

GEO Checker is an AI visibility platform. It includes a free web scanner, a paid monitoring dashboard, shareable reports, generated files, and browser extensions for desktop Chrome and Firefox. All surfaces audit publicly reachable signals such as /llms.txt, /robots.txt, /sitemap.xml, and on-page meta/schema.

The GEO Checker dashboard (subscriber product)

The dashboard is the paid, logged-in product. Unlike the extension, it necessarily keeps data on our servers so it can monitor sites on a schedule and email you when something regresses.

What we store

• Your account and sign-in email. We use passwordless one-time codes; we do not store passwords.
• The sites you add (domain, display name, optional client label, alert recipients, schedule).
• Scan history for those sites — scores, per-check results, and generated files (llms.txt, JSON-LD).
• Operational records — sessions and alert-send logs — kept to run the service securely.

Legal basis and role

For dashboard customers, 4SPACES Sp. z o.o. (trading as Startup Island), Poland, is the data controller. We process this data to perform our contract with you (providing the monitoring service) and on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating and securing it.

Sub-processors

We share data only with the providers that make the service work:

• Google Cloud — hosting, database and infrastructure (EU region).
• Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing.
• SendGrid (Twilio) — transactional email (sign-in codes and regression alerts).

Retention

Scan history for a site you archive is purged after 90 days. When you delete your account we hard-delete your account, sites, scans, generated files and activity across our systems, and cancel any active subscription. We keep only a minimal deletion record (an internal id and a timestamp, with no personal data) for our own audit trail.

Your controls

• Export — Settings → Export my data downloads everything we hold as one JSON file, on demand.
• Delete — Settings → Delete account removes it all after a typed confirmation.

Cookies

geochecker.app uses a small cookie / local storage consent banner. You can choose Accept analytics or Essential only. You can change that later via Cookie settings in the site footer.

Essential

• Consent preference, stored in your browser (localStorage key geo_cookie_consent) so we remember Accept vs Essential only.
• Security / hosting, standard server or CDN logs may still process technical request data needed to deliver the site.

Optional analytics (only after Accept)

• Google Analytics 4 cookies / storage (measurement ID G-ZEX3RGMNG9) for traffic on the marketing site.

Until you accept, analytics storage stays denied through Google Consent Mode. Choosing Essential only keeps analytics off for this browser profile on geochecker.app. We do not use advertising cookies or ad personalization on this site.

Data the extension accesses

• URL and DOM of the active tab when you run a scan (via activeTab + scripting)
• Public HTTP(S) responses for paths on that site’s origin (robots, llms, sitemap, etc.)
• Optional local storage of your last scan summary on your device (chrome.storage.local)

What we do not do

• No account required
• No sale of browsing history
• No hidden keylogging or form scraping
• The extension does not send scan results to a GEO Checker backend — scans run in your browser. (The separate, opt-in dashboard product does store scans on our servers, as described above.)

Permissions

activeTab, scripting, storage, and host access so the extension can fetch public files on sites you choose to scan.

Affiliates

The extension and site may show “tools we recommend” (including free tools we also ship, such as Mobile Simulator). If paid affiliate links are added later, they will remain disclosed. The checklist core stays free.

Landing analytics

When analytics cookies are accepted, the public marketing site (this page and the homepage) uses Google Analytics 4 with measurement ID G-ZEX3RGMNG9 to understand aggregate traffic (page views, referrers, basic device info). Analytics applies to the website only. It is not built into the extension scan flow, and scan results are not uploaded to Google Analytics as a feature payload.

You can withdraw analytics consent anytime with footer Cookie settings, or limit cookies via browser settings or extensions. For Google’s own controls, see Google’s privacy policy.
